Many sites block automated visitors or show different content by country. Spidra has three answers: residential proxies (Stealth Mode), automatic CAPTCHA solving, and failing free when a page still can’t be read.

Stealth Mode

Add "useProxy": true to send the request through a residential proxy, and proxyCountry to choose where it comes from:
It works the same on Scrape, Batch scrape and Crawl. In the dashboard it’s the Stealth mode switch, with a country next to it. Use it when:
  • a site blocks or challenges requests from data centres;
  • you need the prices, results or content people see in a specific country;
  • a page loads in your browser but fails through Spidra.

Countries

proxyCountry takes a two-letter code, "eu" (a different EU country on each request), or "global" (no preference, the same as leaving it out).

Cost

Stealth Mode doesn’t cost credits. It uses proxy bandwidth, measured in MB downloaded: a typical page is about 2 MB, image-heavy pages more. Each plan includes some (50 MB on Free, 500 MB on Starter, 2 GB on Builder, 5 GB on Pro), and you can buy bandwidth top-ups. If you run out, requests that ask for Stealth Mode still run, but without the proxy, so they may be blocked on sites that need one.

When you don’t set useProxy

If you leave useProxy out, Spidra may route the request through a proxy in the country your request comes from, so results look the way they would for you. That costs no bandwidth. Send "useProxy": false for a direct connection with no proxy at all.

CAPTCHA solving

CAPTCHAs and bot challenges are solved automatically on every scrape and crawl. There’s nothing to turn on. Spidra supports reCAPTCHA v2 and v3, hCaptcha, Cloudflare Turnstile and JavaScript challenges, DataDome, PerimeterX (HUMAN), GeeTest, FunCaptcha (Arkose), AWS WAF and Imperva (Incapsula). result.stats.captchaSolvedCount says how many were solved. Each solve costs 5 credits. 0 means the page had no challenge, or got through without one. Cookie banners and consent pop-ups are dismissed automatically too.

When a page stays blocked

Not every site can be read every time. When a page can’t be delivered, the job fails with a plain reason and costs nothing:
  • the page answers an HTTP error (403, 404, 429, 5xx);
  • a challenge is still showing after a solve (the solve isn’t charged either);
  • the page comes back blank or behind a sign-in wall.
What to try:
  1. Turn on Stealth Mode.
  2. Pick a country where the site is popular, or where it’s based.
  3. For a page that loads its content late, add a wait or scroll browser action.
  4. For a page that needs your account, pass your cookies.
Links from supported sites such as Amazon, LinkedIn and Zillow are read with their own methods, which handle those sites’ protection for you.
