# Templates

> Ready-made jobs for the data people ask for most: Google Maps leads, Amazon products, LinkedIn jobs, Google Trends, flight prices and more. Fill in a form, get a table.

A template is a job someone already worked out for you. Pick one, such as **Google Maps leads** or **Amazon keyword rank for a product**, fill in a short form, and get a table with the columns you'd expect. There are no selectors, prompts or schemas to write.

Open **Templates** in the dashboard sidebar, or run any template from the [API](https://docs.spidra.io/api-reference/templates/run.md).

## What you can run

There are over 90 templates. A few of them:

| Site | Templates |
| - | - |
| Google Maps | Leads for a search in one or more areas, leads for a whole area, reviews export, place details, local rank grid |
| Google | Keyword rank tracker, Trends (interest over time, by region, related searches, trending now, seasonality), Scholar (papers, authors, citations, BibTeX), Flights (cheapest flights, cheapest days, fares across routes) |
| Amazon, Walmart, eBay | Product details, search results, best sellers, offers from all sellers, reviews, seller profiles, keyword rank for a product |
| Indeed, LinkedIn | Job search, job details, company profiles, LinkedIn people profiles and posts |
| YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X, Facebook, Reddit | Profile and channel stats, recent posts, post and video metrics, comments, transcripts, Facebook Ad Library, subreddit posts |
| Zillow, Product Hunt | Homes and rentals in an area, property details, agents, Product Hunt leaderboard and launches |
| Any website | Website to Markdown, crawl a docs site, find all URLs on a site, web and news search, PDF to Markdown, contacts from company websites |

The Templates page groups them by category and by site, with a search box. [List Templates](https://docs.spidra.io/api-reference/templates/list.md) returns the full list.

## Run a template

1. Open a template. Its page shows what you get, its columns, and what it can't do.
2. Fill in the form. Countries and languages are dropdowns, dates have a date picker, and airports come from a searchable list. Optional settings are folded under the main inputs.
3. Check the cost line above **Run**. It's an estimate before anything runs.
4. Press **Run**. The results show in a table under the form.

Each template's page says what it can and can't return, for example that a Google Maps search page has up to 20 places, and how to get more.

## The results

* **Table** and **JSON** views. The table starts with the template's columns.
* **Columns** adds any other field the run returned, or hides one. Rows have many more fields than the default columns (a Google Maps place has about 50).
* **CSV** and **JSON** download what you see.
* Pages that couldn't be read are listed under the table. They aren't charged.

Some templates have a second step you can switch on. **Google Maps leads**, for example, can visit each business's website and its contact page to add emails and Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn links.

## Save it, watch it, or run it from code

* **Save as preset** keeps the inputs and your column choice, so you can run it again in one click from [Presets](https://docs.spidra.io/presets.md). Opening a preset shows its columns before you run anything; from there, **Update preset** saves your changes.
* **Watch for changes** turns the template into a [monitor](https://docs.spidra.io/monitors.md): run it on a schedule and get told about new or changed rows.
* The **API** tab shows the exact request for the inputs you've filled in.

```bash theme={null}
curl -X POST https://api.spidra.io/api/templates/google-maps-leads/runs \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SPIDRA_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{ "inputs": { "query": "dentist", "areas": ["Lekki, Lagos"] } }'
```

See [Run a Template](https://docs.spidra.io/api-reference/templates/run.md) and [Get a Template Run](https://docs.spidra.io/api-reference/templates/get-run.md) for the full request and response.

## What it costs

A template costs what the same job costs with the tool behind it, usually 1 credit per page read. **Google Maps leads** for one area is 1 credit for up to 20 places. Most templates use no AI; the few that do say so, and add token credits. The cost line shows the estimate before you run, and [Estimate a Template Run](https://docs.spidra.io/api-reference/templates/estimate.md) gives it over the API.

Pages that fail are free. When a site can't be read at all, the run fails and costs nothing, instead of returning an empty table.

## Good to know

* Templates read public pages the way a signed-out visitor sees them. Nothing that needs a login.
* Sites change their pages. If a template stops working, it's paused with a notice on its page while it's fixed, and runs are refused without charging.
