# CoinMarketCap

> Get CoinMarketCap rankings, coin profiles, historical prices, market pairs, exchanges, categories, the Fear and Greed Index, DEX tokens, NFTs and news as structured data, in any currency CoinMarketCap supports.

CoinMarketCap is where most people check a coin's price, and its rankings, charts and exchange lists are all public. Send one of its links with `"output": "json"` to get that page as fields: a coin's price and changes from 1 hour to 1 year, market cap, volume, supply and all-time high, an exchange's pairs, or a day's candles. You don't need a CoinMarketCap account or API key. Each link costs 1 credit, and big lists cost a little more ([credits](#credits)).

## Example

`count` sets how many coins a ranking link returns:

```json theme={null}
{ "urls": ["https://coinmarketcap.com/?count=5"], "output": "json", "wait": true }
```

The item's `result`, shortened to one coin:

```json theme={null}
{
  "type": "ranking",
  "currency": "USD",
  "totalCount": 8038,
  "coinCount": 5,
  "coins": [
    {
      "rank": 1,
      "name": "Bitcoin",
      "symbol": "BTC",
      "slug": "bitcoin",
      "price": 80361.51327965903,
      "change1h": 0.117022142498,
      "change24h": 3.475048311656,
      "change7d": -0.102064352851,
      "change1y": -21.118918450512,
      "marketCap": 1615697556439.8918,
      "fullyDilutedMarketCap": 1687591778872.84,
      "volume24h": 37286451499.27374,
      "dominance": 59.9861,
      "circulatingSupply": 20105365,
      "maxSupply": 21000000,
      "ath": 126198.06960343386,
      "marketPairCount": 12773,
      "dateAdded": "2010-07-13T00:00:00.000Z"
    }
  ]
}
```

Changes are percentages. Each coin also has 30, 60 and 90 day and year-to-date changes, 7 and 30 day volume, the 24-hour high and low, its all-time low, tags, the chain it's on, and its price in BTC and ETH.

## Links that work

| Link | Example | You get |
| - | - | - |
| Ranking | `coinmarketcap.com/`, `/?page=2`, `/coins/`, `/tokens/` | The ranked coin list, as above. `count` goes up to 5,000 in one link |
| Past ranking | `/historical/20250101/` | The ranking as it stood that day |
| Coin | `/currencies/<slug>/` | The full profile: statistics, all-time high and low with dates, links, contracts, holders, audits, staking, similar coins and the description. Add `?details=full` for derivatives stats and the FAQ |
| Historical data | `/currencies/<slug>/historical-data/?range=30d` | Open, high, low, close, volume and market cap for each day. See [historical prices](#historical-prices) |
| Markets | `/currencies/<slug>/markets/` | Every exchange and pair with price, volume, depth and liquidity score. `?category=spot`, `perpetual` or `futures` |
| Exchanges | `/rankings/exchanges/`, `/rankings/exchanges/derivatives/`, `/rankings/exchanges/dex/` | Every exchange in the ranking |
| Exchange | `/exchanges/<slug>/` | Profile, fees, volumes, proof-of-reserves wallets and trading pairs |
| Categories | `/cryptocurrency-category/`, `/view/<tag>/` | Every category, or one category and its coins |
| Spotlight lists | `/trending-cryptocurrencies/`, `/gainers-losers/`, `/new/`, `/most-viewed-pages/` | Trending, gainers and losers, new listings and most visited coins |
| Fear and Greed | `/charts/fear-and-greed-index/` | Today's score and label, yesterday, last week and month, the year's high and low, and the daily history |
| Market totals | `/charts/` | Total market cap, dominance, DeFi, stablecoins, derivatives and open interest. Add `start` and `end` for daily history |
| DEX token | `dex.coinmarketcap.com/token/<chain>/<address>/` | Price, liquidity, volume, buys and sells, holders, pools, taxes and every security check |
| DEX lists | `dex.coinmarketcap.com/` lists | Trending, gainers, losers and new tokens, optionally on one chain. Pools under \$10,000 of liquidity are left out unless you set `minLiquidity` |
| NFT | `/nft/` | Collections with floor price, market cap, owners, volume and sales |
| News | `/headlines/news/`, `/currencies/<slug>/news/` | Headlines with source, link and the coins they mention |

A symbol works in place of a slug: `/currencies/btc/` reads the best-ranked coin with that symbol and names the other coins that share it.

## Historical prices

```json theme={null}
{ "urls": ["https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/historical-data/?range=30d"], "output": "json", "wait": true }
```

That came back with 30 daily rows. The last one:

```json theme={null}
{
  "date": "2026-11-03T00:00:00.000Z",
  "open": 76677.2968183589,
  "high": 77964.9735005997,
  "low": 76269.9969599766,
  "close": 77345.0450790986,
  "volume": 22409398139.54,
  "marketCap": 1555001389308.22,
  "circulatingSupply": 20105365,
  "timeHigh": "2026-11-03T21:46:00.000Z",
  "timeLow": "2026-11-03T06:13:00.000Z"
}
```

`range` takes `30d`, `1y` or `all`, or set `start` and `end` dates. `interval` takes `15m`, `1h`, `4h`, `1d` or `7d`. For the price chart's points instead of candles, use `?chart=1D` up to `ALL`.

## Other currencies

Add `?convert=EUR` to any link for prices in another currency. It takes any fiat currency CoinMarketCap lists, gold and silver, or a coin symbol such as `BTC`. Rankings and historical data come back already converted by CoinMarketCap. Other links are converted from USD at CoinMarketCap's rate at the time of the request, and the result says which fields stay in USD.

## Credits

* Each link is 1 credit.
* Lists include 100 rows in that credit, and each further 100 rows is 1 more. A ranking of 5,000 coins is 50 credits.

A link that finds nothing is free: a coin or exchange that doesn't exist, or a list with no rows.

## Limits

* Prices are what CoinMarketCap shows at the moment of the request, which `fetchedAt` records.
* CoinMarketCap caps some lists: gainers and losers go up to 30 coins, new listings up to 500, and trending covers the last 24 hours only.
* Airdrops, community posts and CoinMarketCap's news summaries aren't available.

## Templates

[Templates](https://docs.spidra.io/templates.md) cover the common CoinMarketCap jobs, such as the top cryptocurrencies, historical prices, coin details, new listings, gainers and losers, exchange rankings and the Fear and Greed Index.
