# Presets

> Save a template with its inputs, or any scrape, batch, crawl, map, search or parse setup, and run it again in one click or one API call.

A preset is a saved job you can run again. Save one when you find a setup that works, and next time it's one click, one API call, or the source of a [monitor](https://docs.spidra.io/monitors.md).

There are two kinds:

* **Template presets** keep a [template](https://docs.spidra.io/templates.md) with its inputs and the columns you chose, such as Google Maps leads for dentists in Lekki and Ikeja.
* **Tool presets** keep a Scrape, Crawl, Map, Search or Parse setup (and, over the API, a batch scrape): the URLs, instruction, schema, options and everything else on the form.

## Save a preset

* On a template page, fill in the form and press **Save as preset**.
* On Scrape, Crawl, Map, Search or Parse, set up the form and press **Save as preset**.

Cookies are never saved in a preset, so a preset never keeps a login.

## Use your presets

The **Presets** page lists them with what each one runs.

* **Run** runs it straight away. Tool runs show in [Logs](https://docs.spidra.io/dashboard/logs.md).
* **Open** (or **Open in template**) fills the form with the preset, so you can change something before running. A template preset shows its saved columns before you run, and **Update preset** saves your changes to it (or **Save as new** keeps both).
* **Watch for changes** turns it into a [monitor](https://docs.spidra.io/monitors.md).
* **Rename** and **Delete** are in the same menu.

## Presets over the API

Every preset can be created, run and managed with your API key.

```bash theme={null}
# Save a template preset
curl -X POST https://api.spidra.io/api/presets \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SPIDRA_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{ "kind": "template", "name": "Dentists in Lekki", "template": "google-maps-leads",
        "inputs": { "query": "dentist", "areas": ["Lekki, Lagos"] } }'
# Run it, changing one input for this run only
curl -X POST https://api.spidra.io/api/presets/PRESET_ID/runs \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SPIDRA_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{ "overrides": { "areas": ["Ikeja, Lagos"] } }'
```

See [Create a Preset](https://docs.spidra.io/api-reference/presets/create.md) and [Run a Preset](https://docs.spidra.io/api-reference/presets/run.md).

## What it costs

Saving a preset is free. Running one costs what the same job costs when you run it directly.
